Was Mewtwo in Smash Bros. Brawl?
Mewtwo is the only cut character from Super Smash Bros. Brawl who is not a clone. This resulted in a significant amount of fan outcry, despite Mewtwo’s lack of popularity as a playable character in Melee, as the majority of players saw it as an unjustified cut. Since Brawl’s Lucario shares some properties with Melee’s Mewtwo, it was originally believed that Lucario indeed replaced Mewtwo, much like it was thought that Ike had replaced Roy. However, there is no evidence that Lucario was intended to replace or exist as a clone of Mewtwo in Super Smash Bros.
