Is Chrono Cross a remake?
Chrono Cross was later re-released for the PlayStation Network in Japan in July 2011, and in North America four months later. A remaster of the game, titled Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition was released on April 7, 2022, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. CHRONO CROSS: THE RADICAL DREAMERS EDITION is a remaster of CHRONO CROSS. The 3D models have been upgraded to HD, new illustrations have been added, and all kinds of new features are now included.
Are Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross connected?
They are only subtly related. There are behind-the-scenes references in Chrono Cross to the events and characters in Chrono Trigger. However, I do not believe you need to have played Chrono Trigger to understand the story in Chrono Cross. They are both great games and worthy of your time. This is one of the few RPGs that are fun to play through a second or third time because of this feature. Chrono Cross scraps the traditional experience points=levels concept. Instead, whenever a boss is defeated all characters gain one level. Even the ones that weren’t in the boss battle gain a level, brilliant idea.Chrono Trigger is a perfect childhood game, with simple concepts and a straightforward story that appeals to everyone. Chrono Cross is the awkward teenage years. The game is amazing, but it is all over the place at times. At the same time, it is more mature and sophisticated, but still light-hearted and funny.
