How many people are playing Sea of Thieves on Steam?

This means it is eventually going to die. While this game is going very strong, once Rare decides the servers are no longer worth their effort the game will no longer be playable ever again.
Why did Sea of Thieves fail?
The problem is that the game has too little content for the extreme price and the only interesting thing that the game has to offer: becoming a pirate legend, requires months of boring grinding. So, yeah, it’s a grinding game. You may want to hardcore-grind to be pirate legend in three weeks, or take your time for fooling around and play music, it’s nontheless grinding. Not that it’s a bad thing on itself, a lot of games includes grinding, but usually not just that.
