A former Rockstar developer has said Grand Theft Auto 6 will be locked at 30FPS on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. However, leaks now suggest that GTA 6 will support 60 fps gameplay on one specific console, and it is not the standard PS5 or Xbox Series X. According to industry sources, the PlayStation 5 Pro, a more powerful version of the PS5, will be the only console capable of running GTA 6 at 60 fps.

GTA 6 isn’t coming to PS4 and Xbox One because the consoles simply wouldn’t be able to run the open-world game. It is only being released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S initially. GTA 6 is one of the most ambitious games we have ever seen and could be the biggest entertainment launch of all time. GTA 6 will come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S on May 26, 2026 (that is if it doesn’t get delayed again), and there’s just no way that I won’t be rushing out to get my hands on it day one as the wait for a console release could be long.
