Unfortunately, Gotham Knights was pelted with mediocre reviews. The game earned a 67 score on Metacritic, with many critics and players comparing the game unfavorably to the Arkham Trilogy. Right off the bat (no pun intended), anyone looking to get into this series should start at the beginning with Batman: Arkham Asylum. While this isn’t chronologically the first canonical game in the series, it is the first one to release and sets the stage for the rest of the franchise.The greatest superhero game of all time. Batman: Arkham City has set a standard that only Insomniac’s Spider-Man has come close to touching.Arkham Knight is objectively the best. Most fans of the series got worn out of the combat system by the time it released but if you can look at each game independently without bias and compare them, Arkham Knight is better, it’s got all the mechanics from the previous games but only builds/improves on them.If you want to experience the series by release date, you’d want to start with Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Why didn’t people like Gotham Knights?
Problem is it was largely forgettable besides the their Batcave. It was nowhere as detailed and coherent as Arkham Knight yet somehow it was bigger im pretty sure at least. Combat wasn’t particularly fun either. It came out to a lot of mixed reviews and got bad press due to people not liking technical things such as the 30 FPS, choppy game play (compared to previous Gen Arkham Knight) and a few other things, but I’m here to say that once I finally gave it a chance with an open mind I enjoyed this game very much.
Is Gotham hit or flop?
Critical response. Season 1 of Gotham received generally positive reviews from critics. Gotham ‘Yikes’ It’s not good. The acting is lacklustre. The tone is all over the place. The story could be intriguing but gets bogged down in teeny-bopper melodrama, as my dad would say.
