Why was Epic Mickey 3 canceled?
Epic Mickey 3 was the planned third game in the Epic Mickey series, cancelled due to Disney wanting to go into a different direction for their gaming division, because of the rising market of mobile games after the release of Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two. Epic Mickey 3 is desired by fans, but creator Warren Spector’s day job makes his involvement impossible for now. Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is a remake of the original game, fixing control issues and adding new features.

It has maintained popularity since its release, and is widely credited for re-igniting public interest in the Oswald character, as well as other minor Disney characters such as Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow. Successors to the game include Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two and Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion. Oswald came before his half-brother Mickey, but the similarities are obvious.
