Why was Battle Realms 2 cancelled?
Battle Realms: Lair of the Lotus was announced on 16th of July 2013 as a sequel to Battle Realms. Later, the project was cancelled due to the lack of budget and Battle Realms on Steam/GOG being in works. In 2012, the game was re-released on GOG. In 2019, the game was re-released on Steam as Battle Realms: Zen Edition, in its early access state with functioning online multiplayer.
