Why is the Devotion game banned?

The game also incorporates elements based on Taiwanese culture and folk religion. The game was released on February 19, 2019, but was removed from Steam shortly afterwards on February 26, after a controversial Easter egg referencing Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, was found in the game. The narrative horror game disappeared from Steam just a week after release under a cloud of controversy. A piece of art portraying Chinese president Xi Jinping in an unflattering light had made its way into the game, riffing on a Winnie the Pooh meme that had been banned in China.Soon after it launched in 2019, taiwanese horror game devotion was pulled from sale following some controversy regarding chinese president xi jinping and winnie the pooh (long story).

Is Devotion good or bad?

Devotion is a pretty good horror game, full of surprises and tension. We didn’t enjoy that much the walking simulator part of it, but we did enjoy it overall. There are only a handful of jump scares throughout Devotion, but when they do hit they usually hit very hard thanks to their intensity and the suffocating silence that precedes and follows each of them.
