Why does Cortana look different in season 2?
In Season 2, Jen Taylor–who has played Cortana in the Halo games for over two decades–is no longer doing motion capture for the role. Instead, producers recast her with an entirely new actress, Season 2 addition Christina Bennington. Of course, that doesn’t mean Taylor is out of the equation. What happened in episode 1 of season 2 of Halo?
Season 2 Episode 1, “Sanctuary” We open with Master Chief John-117 on a table while doctors buzz around him. Cortana calls out to him, but he’s unresponsive. She realizes he’s dying. Then, Cortana says, “Sever the connection,” understanding that her being part of him is killing him. Later on in the season, while Cortana haunts Chief, both characters begin to tolerate each other more and more to the point of Cortana saying that Chief may indeed be a good person, Eventually, in Game Over Chief confesses his love to her.
Who is Master Chief in Halo?
Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, colloquially known as Master Chief, is the protagonist of the Halo video game series and its spin-off media. Bungie designed Master Chief as a man of few words, similar to Clint Eastwood characters. The game designers crafted the first game’s experience as lonely, to reinforce the backstory that Chief’s friends had been largely killed.
