Why did Konami kick Kojima?
As muranaka tells the story, kojima refused to cut corners during game development, and spent lots of money adding extra features to metal gear solid 5, delaying the game. Because kojima worked on a salary, the ever-increasing budget and numerous delays didn’t affect him, but they did affect konami’s bottom line. It is not known exactly what happened between konami and kojima, but the studio was clearly fed up with the amount of money he was spending to make a single game – with kojima‘s internal studio actually removed from promotional materials for metal gear solid v at the time.
