Why did Daedalus go to jail?
Only Daedalus knew the course of the labyrinth. Minos was afraid that Daedalus would tell the route through the labyrinth, and that he would tell that the Minotaur was the son of Minos’ wife, he imprisoned Daedalus and his son Icarus, in a high tower. Daedalus (also known as Quintus) was a Greek demigod son of Athena and inventor of the Labyrinth. A genius ahead of his time, he was also one of the oldest known demigods, or simply the only adult one shown in the main series who wasn’t made immortal by the gods.Daedalus is today most closely associated with the island of Crete, where he worked for the Cretan king Minos, but with the rise in importance of the polis Athens, Athenian writers adopted Daedalus as one of their own, creating a tale of his origins and early life.
