Wyatt personally believed that Kai is the one who Ben ends up marrying and having kids with, even though that is not happening yet, because their relationship is more fun to watch than Ben’s previous relationship with Julie. This relationship was a concept from the Original Series conceived by Thomas N. The out-of-universe reason for Ben and Julie breaking up was that the crew wanted to do something different, and some of the producers didn’t care for their relationship in Alien Force and Ultimate Alien. Derrick J. Wyatt never felt their relationship had much chemistry, as Ben did not treat Julie very well.
