Hexen: Beyond Heretic (or simply Hexen) is a first-person shooter computer game developed by Raven Software, published by id Software, and distributed by GT Interactive beginning on October 30, 1995. Like Heretic, Hexen was developed on NeXTSTEP. Hexen uses a modified version of the Doom engine, which allows jumping, looking up and down, network play with up to eight players and the choice of three character classes.After three decades, Heretic has made its debut on consoles alongside its sequel Hexen which hasn’t seen a home console release since its original launch. The last time Hexen was playable on home consoles it was on Playstation, Saturn, and Nintendo 64.
