Was Saints Row inspired by GTA?
It’s not a secret that Saints Row was partially inspired by Grand Theft Auto, and thus it had to do some things differently to stand out and attract players – otherwise, it would’ve been seen as nothing more but a mere GTA clone. Saints Row is a 2006 action-adventure game developed by Volition and published by THQ exclusively for the Xbox 360.Reflecting on the series’ progression, Eurogamer’s Chris Schilling said that Saints Row IV successfully reinvented the series yet again, with superpowers replacing the usefulness of in-game vehicles.
What makes Saints Row unique?

Why was Saints Row discontinued?
Due to the game’s reception, Volition’s parent company Embracer Group announced that Volition would become part of Gearbox Entertainment, then later closed the studio in August 2023, making Saints Row its final game. Saints Row’s 2022 reboot is currently free to keep from the Epic Games Store. It’s bittersweet considering its developer, Volition, was closed down in August, but it’s also an opportunity to experience the last game the 30-year-old studio got to make.
Is the latest Saints Row good?
Overall: 6/10 A wild variety of absolutely awful writing, a poor story, embarrassingly cringey characters, but a game that features some decent and fun gameplay, simply astounding customisation and a great map. This leaves Saints Row in such a unique place in my gaming library. Saints Row is a game for Java-enabled mobile phones.
