Is there going to be an Outer Wilds 2?
The Outer Worlds 2 is a 2025 action role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios. It is a standalone sequel to The Outer Worlds (2019), set in the Arcadia star system that has been invaded by a megacorporation. Development of The Outer Worlds 2 is now complete, and we’ve discovered how much space the game will take up on PS5. The PlayStation Game Size account is back with this detail on X. Is Outer Wilds 2 worth it?
The Outer Worlds 2 is not a new Obsidian all-timer, but it’s one of the best games I’ve played this year and an RPG I’ll happily revisit down the line. Some of its balance and mechanical quirks can be frustrating, particularly early in a playthrough, but enduring them is well worth it. The Outer Worlds itself is a little short, but the DLCs make up for that. They’re both extremely good, just as New Vegas’s also are damn good. I like New Vegas more overall, but The Outer Worlds has a certain charm to it which is the reason I enjoy consuming content even when I’m not actively playing it.The Outer Worlds was a big deal at the time for being the biggest in a wave of ‘budget’ AAA games that aimed to prove that you could still make quality games with a smaller team by sticking to a strict scope.
