What replaced Overwatch League?
The Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) is the premier international Overwatch circuit, introduced in 2024 as the successor to the Overwatch League. Built around an open format, teams compete in regional circuits across NA, EMEA, China, and Asia, qualifying for international events against the world’s best. The International 2026 (also commonly called TI 2026 or TI 15) is the fifteenth annual edition of The International which will take place in August 2026 in Shanghai, China.The OWCS 2026 season will commence with regional stages across China, North America, EMEA, and Asia. Each stage will crown its top teams, who will then qualify for a global Live Event to compete for glory, their piece of the crowdfunded prizepol, and the title of OWCS Champions.The International 2026 — the fifteenth anniversary of the event will be held at the Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai China between Aug 20-23, 2026.
Why is Overwatch 2 so poorly rated?
The main problem that Overwatch 2 faces is that it over-promised and under-delivered. A robust player-versus-enemy mode was showcased, teased, and timelined well before the game’s free-to-play release. On October 3, 2022, the Overwatch servers were shut down and the game was made unplayable, and its sequel, Overwatch 2, was released in an early access state the next day, and considered fully released by August 2023. Overwatch 2 was later rebranded as simply Overwatch in February 2026.
