If you are into challenging games, Sifu is definitely worth giving a go! Pros: 1) Snappy and satisfying mechanics. Sifu WILL punish you for getting the timing wrong on a parry, but when that perfect dodge or parry is executed, it is oh-so-satisfying! It’s not going to be an easy revenge quest, however, since the combat system is challenging, the bosses supernaturally empowered, and every death makes you older. While Sifu is quite playable without it, a controller makes action and movement smoother, and you’ll need all the help you can get.Alongside a gritty prologue that sets the stakes for this tale of an unbridled quest for vengeance, Sifu has 5 main levels/stages for you to master. Each area houses numerous enemies, and more importantly, a member of the group responsible for your father’s death.Sifu is a hard game, I don’t think anyone can really argue with that. This didn’t deter Hiro from accomplishing what is one of the most impressive feats we’ve got to watch: an insane no damage, no shortcut, Wude run on Master Difficulty, in one sitting. How much does Sifu age?
One of the key mechanics in Sifu is ageing. You start at age 20 and have to finish all five of the game’s levels before you hit age 75. Although this may sound simple, it’s actually a lot more complicated than you might think and takes some paying attention to. You start the game at 20 years old, and each time you die then rise again that number increases thanks to the Sifu age system.The simple answer is you can die 10 times before the game restarts. However, it’s not as simple as your age going up one year every time you die. Instead, you have a death counter that ticks up as you die, and that dictates how much you age.Despite the game indicating that 70 is the maximum age you can go and going over this age causes you to die for good, this is not the case. As such, the theoretical maximum age is 79 years old, able to be achieved by aging to 24 and dying ten times in a row.You start level 1 at 20 years old but each time you die and get back up you’re older. Age decreases your maximum health but it increases your power. An added twist is the more you die the faster you age, as tracked by your death counter. The first death ages you by 1 year, the second ages you by 2 years, and so on.
