If you haven’t experienced Limbo, I promise you: it’s one of the purest games like Little Nightmares out there. You play as a small boy wandering through a shadowy, decaying world. Everything is black and white, but that limited palette makes every shape and every movement feel sharper and more alive. Do yourself a favor and play Limbo first, then follow it up with Inside. While the games are not part of a series and the story does not require you to have played one before the other, I really feel that playing one prepares you for the other.It’s impossible to deny the importance of Limbo and its influence, but Inside is a much stronger game overall and shows a pretty direct elevation of the developer’s craft. It’s not a brain crusher, but it’s a fantastic experience that is far more than just a mediocre puzzle game with pretty aesthetics.Limbo and Inside play somewhat similar to one another but otherwise have no connection.
