Is GT7 PC version Cancelled?
It is now official! Gran Turismo 7 is no longer in development and all patches have been overwritten. This news came in recently following rumors flying around about Gran Turismo 7 in development. However, the controversy underwent a twist, as the plans to port this title on PC have been canceled. Is GT 7 available on PC?
Gran Turismo 7 launched in March 2022 for PS5 and PS4. Historically, Gran Turismo has always been a PlayStation-exclusive franchise, making a PC version unlikely, but not impossible. Sony has relatively recently brought other first-party titles to PC, though, such as: Spider-Man. Gran Turismo was supposed to have a PC port, but it was cancelled. I believe there were licensing issues and they gave up on making the port, but I imagine GT8 will be released for PC at some point. Think moving the game to PC would also expose how flawed the game is compared to other sim racers like Iracing, A/C etc.
Why no Gran Turismo for PC?
Gran Turismo is made by a Japanese company. Japan has always focused on consoles over PCs. Aside from that, it is also a market thing. Keeping Gran Turismo console only means increased sales for consoles instead of trying to compete with half a dozen PC-only racing sims. Gran Turismo (GT) is a series of sim racing video games developed by Polyphony Digital.
