Is Grounded a kids game?
Grounded will make you feel like a kid again. But while the overall style and aesthetic looks very kid-friendly, there’s enough complexity and terror on offer that even hardened adult gamers can find a great deal of excitement here. It is the sequel to Grounded and was announced during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8, 2025. It released in early access on July 29, 2025, for Windows and Xbox Series X/S.Grounded 2 is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Blood and Fantasy Violence. Also includes Users Interact. What is the point of the game Grounded?
In the game, the four protagonists are shrunk in size following a science experiment and must survive in a backyard, combating against various bugs and insects. The player character awakes in a small cave, unsure of what happened before they blacked out. On leaving the cave, surrounded by oversized blades of grass and a massive baseball, the realization that they are now standing at a mere 7 millimeters tall quickly sinks in.
Is Grounded fun to play solo?
If you want to play solo, then by all means. Whether you can’t entice anyone in your friend group to buy the game, no one enjoys crafting-survival games any longer, or because they’re terrified of dealing with arachnids (tell them arachnophobia mode is a thing! Grounded plays well solo. You can play up to four players so you can play with just to 2 or even solo in the same server if you want.The game can be played solo, though it also has a four-player cooperative multiplayer mode.And generally the game is pretty much balanced around singleplayer, since even in multiplayer you might still run around solo most of the time anyway.
Is Grounded a horror?
With Grounded 2 crawling out to a release in the near future, I was reminded of a piece I wrote several years ago about the original Grounded being a masterclass in horror.
