Is Dreamfall Chapters a remake?
This is the 3rd game in the series, not a remake. The actual first game is The Longest Journey. Pretty old, and really dated graphics. The second game is Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, less old, and mostly the same user interface as Dreamfall Chapters, visuals are of course not as pretty but still work well. The game features returning characters from its predecessor, such as Brian Westhouse and Gordon Halloway, but playing The Longest Journey is not a prerequisite to understanding its plot.
What is the difference between Dreamfall and Dreamfall Chapters?
Dreamfall Chapters is the third game of The Longest Journey Saga and the second (and final) of the Dreamer cycle. It is a direct sequel to Dreamfall. The first part of the game, Book One: Reborn, was released on the 21st October 2014. The last part, Book Five: Redux, was released on June 17th, 2016. Dreamfall Chapters is the episodic sequel to The Longest Journey (1999) and Dreamfall (2006).
