Is Andromeda a sequel to Mass Effect 3?
Andromeda is no sequel, it’s a spin-off with it’s own story. And the next game has no title yet and it won’t have a number as no direct sequel. On the one hand Andromeda isn’t that related to the rest of the story, so it makes sense as a prequel and since I’ve played them before I don’t mind the odd spoiler.
Is Andromeda before Mass Effect 3?
Even though the game does start in the middle of the original mass effect trilogy it technically doesn’t officially get going until centuries after the end of mass effect 3. This however doesn’t mean that andromeda will be a huge departure from the original series. The entire studio is reportedly working on developing mass effect 4, which is still in its early stages. While mass effect 4 likely won’t be released in 2025, fans may still get some news about its setting, story, and when to expect it.Even assuming a brisk three year development schedule, Mass Effect 5 won’t launch until 2027 or 2028. By then, Mass Effect will have been off the market for over a decade, just like what happened with Dragon Age.
Why is Andromeda so popular?
Although several dozen minor galaxies lie closer to our Milky Way, the Andromeda galaxy is the closest large spiral galaxy to ours. Excluding the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds, visible from Earth’s Southern Hemisphere, the Andromeda galaxy is the brightest external galaxy visible in our night sky. The Andromeda Galaxy is a barred spiral galaxy and is the nearest major galaxy to the Milky Way. It was originally named the Andromeda Nebula and is cataloged as Messier 31, M31, and NGC 224.Nowadays, amateur astronomers seek out these objects with their telescopes and binoculars. They’re some of most beautiful deep-sky objects known. Most Messier objects are star clusters or gas clouds in our Milky Way galaxy. But the Andromeda galaxy is a whole separate galaxy, even bigger than our Milky Way.Our neighbor, the Andromeda galaxy is a proxy for spiral galaxies in the universe at large. Astronomers would know much less about the structure and evolution of our own spiral, the Milky Way, if they didn’t have Andromeda to study. That’s because we are embedded inside the Milky Way.
