Do old Skylanders still work?
All Skylanders toys are forward compatible. That means every Skylanders toy that has ever been released will always work in games released after it. So, when future games are released, those Skylanders that you currently have in your collection will work in them. Skylanders toys never become obsolete. It comes at a price, though. Your old portal won’t work with Swap Force, so you’ll have to buy a $75 Starter Kit to get up and running with the new game. Upside: All your old Skylander figures do still work, so you don’t have to start your entire collection from scratch.
