Are Steam Decks being discontinued?
Valve has officially discontinued its 256 GB LCD version of the Steam Deck handheld gaming console, phasing it out entirely from its offerings. Steam Deck 2 will be a true next-gen product. Valve unveiled its new batch of hardware for 2026 yesterday, including a new Steam Machine, Steam Controller, and even the Steam Frame VR headset.
Can the Steam Deck run Returnal?
In its current state, Returnal perfectly suits the Steam Deck, and it runs quite well given the hardware, with visual cutbacks. While it isn’t as nice as playing on PS5 of course, I’ve found myself enjoying Returnal on the go quite a bit thanks to the suspend feature and sublime core gameplay. I really appreciated this feature as it allows me to cipher through my settings if I need to adjust things, and I found through using the benchmark that Returnal on PC is a very GPU-intensive game, using a very minimal amount of CPU.
Will Steam refund a Steam Deck?
