Is Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree a good game?
Following up Elden Ring is a gargantuan task. It’s one of my favorite games of all time, and the base adventure isn’t lacking for content, intrigue, or surprises. Shadow of the Erdtree doesn’t outclass the primary campaign but expands it, adding a fun and fascinating new zone in the Realm of Shadow. ELDEN RING is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Blood and Gore, Language, Suggestive Themes, and Violence. Also includes In-Game Purchases. This is an action role-playing game in which players assume the role of a character trying to retrieve a magical ring and become the Elden Lord.Yes, Elden Ring is much more difficult than Skyrim. Thanks to skill-based combat and high damage from both player and enemy sides, combat in Elden Ring is a much more rigorous challenge.
Was Shadow of the Erdtree a success?
Just in case there was any lingering doubt about the wild success of FromSoftware’s juggernaut Elden Ring series, today publisher Bandai Namco confirmed its DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, has sold over 10 million copies, and its co-op spin-off title, Elden Ring Nightreign, five million. In Shadow of the Erdtree there are 83 new bosses. Only 12 of these are considered main bosses, meaning they give you remembrance or similar items at the end of the fight. Only 3 bosses are required to beat the game.FromSoftware has now confirmed via the first trailer for Shadow of The Erdtree, that it’ll release on June 21st, 2024 and in order to access the DLC you’ll need to defeat two bosses. You don’t need to beat the game, but these two bosses are going to be primary battles for players to head into the land between.
How many endings are in Shadow of Erdtree?
Shadow of the Erdtree introduces its own self‑contained finale after its final boss, but the main game still offers only six endings. You will return to the base game after the DLC and make the same choices as before. The Dlc adds a new ending cutscene after defeating the final boss. While players can’t choose new options as Elden Lord, the expansion follows FromSoftware’s tradition of not adding new endings to base games.
