Why was Bully so controversial?
That mismatch between actual content and public perception baffled many players: Bully is about adolescent conflict and mischief, not explicit gore, yet it faced bans and edits because its setting (a school) and protagonist’s age triggered stronger reactions. Bully is rated T for Teen by the ESRB with Crude Humor, Language, Sexual Themes, Use of Alcohol and Tobacco, and Violence.
Is Bully a banned game?
Enter Bully, a game that was bold, controversial, and way ahead of its time. It’s also a title that managed to get itself banned in Brazil, yanked from shelves in parts of the UK, and even examined in courtrooms. The crime? Supposedly teaching kids how to bully… or worse. Bully was just GTA in a school, wasn’t it? Wrong, of course bully was similar to GTA. It was made by Rockstar Games, but aside from similar controls, there were a lot of differences.
Is Bully part of GTA?
As of August 20, 2024, both Bully and Bully: Scholarship Edition are available for Grand Theft Auto Online players with a GTA+ Membership, included with other classic Rockstar Games titles in the GTA+ Games Library. Although you can download Bully: Anniversary Edition for free, it is a Premium game. This means only the first half hour of gameplay is free. If you want to continue playing after that time, you will have to unlock the full version. You can purchase a license to continue playing from the app itself.
