Poor sales, a horrible marketing campaign and people not even sure it’s a new console, caused the Wii U to fade out and die. The console itself also didn’t support Unity and Unreal Engine. Third party developers were not interested and those who were. The WiiU doesn’t reflect that trend. It was sold at a loss. It was initially sold as a machine that would have strong third-party support, unlike the Wii. Ubisoft and EA were presented front-and-center as supporting it.The wii has GameCube hardware and the Wiiu is basically just a faster wii. The Wii U isn’t just a faster Wii. It specifically contains 2 GPUs, the Wii U GPU and the Wii GPU. CPU is bigger and better but same architecture.The Wii U is considered a commercial failure, with 13. January 2017.
