When did the Sega Genesis CDX come out?
With the competition heating up, Sega released the Multi-Mega (CDX in North America) in April of 1994. The Multi-Mega was a single unit that combined both the Genesis and the Sega CD into a single unit. The sleek design was slightly larger then a normal CD Player. To quickly summarize: -Sega CD: It gave the console scaling and rotation capabilities similar to the SNES, had a faster processor, and took advantage of the larger storage capacity of CDs. But wouldn’t call it too large of a technical leap over the Genesis.
