How does Doom 2 end?
After fighting through the hordes of Hell, the marine reaches the location of the biggest demon he has ever seen, called the Icon of Sin (Baphomet). He kills the Icon of Sin by firing rockets into its exposed brain. Its death causes devastation in Hell, and the portal to Earth is sealed. In order to save Earth, he decided to close the portal from inside Hell and continue the fight against the demons.
Why is Doom 1993 so important?
Doom added numerous technical and design improvements to the Wolfenstein 3D model: a superior graphics engine, fast peer-to-peer networking for multiplayer gaming, a modular design that let authors outside id create new levels, and a new mode of competitive play devised by Romero called “death match. DOOM 64 is rated M for Mature 17+ by the ESRB with Blood and Gore, and Violence. This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of a lone space marine battling demonic forces on Mars and in Hell.

A retail version with an additional episode was published in 1995 by GT Interactive as The Ultimate Doom. So, with hopeful thoughts id Software released DOOM as shareware3 in 1993. Not long after its release, DOOM raised much controversy among gamers because of the Gorey graphics and somewhat insensitive plotline4. Many people believed that DOOM was a horrible game and that it should be banned, but it was already too late.
