What is an EA ID?
Your EA ID is the same as your Public ID and is set up when you create your EA Account. It’s how other players see you in games and on our websites and platforms, like EA Forums and the EA app. An EA Account is your digital identity for EA’s games and services. It helps you save your progress, play online multiplayer, connect across platforms, and access in‑game features. You need an EA Account to play most EA games, even if you’re playing through a different platform like Steam.Overview. Do I create my own EA ID?
An EA ID – this is created by you and it’s how you’ll be known in your games, on our websites, and on EA Forums. Your Origin ID is the same as your EA ID.
Does EA account have an app?
The EA app is required in order to play EA games on PC. When you launch an EA title on Steam or Epic, we’ll provide guidance for installing the EA app (and uninstalling Origin if applicable) to ensure you can access & play your EA games. EA account is a required account to play their software. This is how companies like ubisoft and paradox also work. They tend to have their own programs and loaders that basically is how you get into the game. Usually seperated from steam use, some games can be linked from steam.If you buy a game through the EA app, you can’t transfer it to Steam. You have to play it through the EA app.You need an EA Account to access and use many EA Services, including to play online.Unlinking risks for Steam players If you link your Steam account to a different EA Account, any entitlements, like in-game rewards, points, and items, will remain on the EA Account that your Steam account was first linked to. You can’t move your games or personas to another account yourself.
Do I need an EA account?
