The Evil Dead. In Germany, the film was released in theaters and on video the same day to avoid problems with the censorship boards. It was banned soon afterward, but dominated the top ten in the few weeks of its release. Like the original film, Evil Dead II had censorship difficulties due to its high level of violence.
