How do you play Joust?
If you play the joust game on your own, you control a knight riding an ostrich. You can repeatedly press the flap button to gain altitude and control your direction using a joystick. Meanwhile, you compete against enemy knights riding buzzards. As you move through the game, you’ll collect points. Jousting and jousters two jousting knights rode at each other with their 12 foot long lances in their right hands, slanted across their body and over their horse’s head to strike their opponent’s left side. Later on, jousters were separated by a wooden barrier or ’tilt’, running down the centre of the course.Even with strict rules and blunted weapons, jousting could be dangerous. Seasoned fighters still faced serious injuries. Splintered lances could pierce armour, horses could throw riders unpredictably, and crashes often caused head injuries, broken bones, or internal harm.Jousting was an expensive and physically demanding hobby. Jousting knights needed to be extremely athletic, riding in armour weighing over 40kg, at speeds of up to 30mph, and the sport demanded a great deal of specialist equipment.
