What TV do I need to play N64?
A tube TV, aka CRT. The boxy ones with the glass front panel. By far the best choice for N64 and PS1. It doesn’t have to be huge either, most CRTs are 4:3 which means you get more vertical screen size for less diagonal inches compared to widescreen TVs. N64 does look better on CRTs, mainly it’s the fact the TV is designed to display 480i (N64 expansion pak enhanced games) and also works for displaying 240p (most N64 games). HDTVs have to upscale low res images and they end up smearing the original picture a lot.
