Is Far Cry 7 happening?
A new report by Insider Gaming confirms Ubisoft is developing two new Far Cry games. Far Cry 7, codenamed Blackbird, and a multiplayer extraction shooter, codenamed Maverick. Both are delayed to 2026. Far Cry 7 will feature a countdown clock mechanic similar to Majora’s Mask. Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3 was a strong entry in the Far Cry franchise. The game was an overall success but the game’s story has been widely criticized for racism and colonialism. The writer, Jeffrey Yohalem, has always opposed the criticism, stating that players are missing some key points.Over the past few days, many noticed that Far Cry had got a new patch more than ten years after its release, and all with the aim to censor nudity in the game. In the end, Ubisoft has reviewed the matter and withdrew the newly applied censorship. The publisher issued a press release to explain what had happened.
