Which is the weakest empire in history?

The Western Roman Empire from the split of 395 to 476 was certainly a weak state compared to it’s Eastern counterpart and even it’s predecessors. The West would be continuously invaded by a whole manner of barbarians ranging from the Visigoths, Vandals, Ostrogoths, and especially the Huns. The Roman Empire became the gold standard of imperial power in the Western world, influencing everything from language and law to government and religion. Its longevity and adaptability, from Republic to Empire to Byzantium, cement its place among history’s most powerful civilizations.
