The official livestream for The Game Awards 2024 kicks off with a 30-minute pre-show at 4:30 PM PT / 7:30 PM ET, followed by the main event at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET. Award winners will be announced from 30 categories across general gaming and esports including Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, and more. The Game Awards 2024 takes place on Thursday, December 12th at 4:30PM PT / 7:30PM ET, and 12:30AM GMT UK time on Friday, December 13th.

In addition to the date, Keighley confirmed that the 2025 ceremony will once again take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, which has served as the new home for The Game Awards since 2023. The Peacock Theater previously witnessed Baldur’s Gate 3 winning Game of the Year and other major categories. Larian Studios won Game of the Year for Baldur’s Gate 3 in 2023. Since its inception, the award has been given to eleven video games.
