Users ages 9-12 can chat outside of games (Party Chat) with trusted friends one-on-one or in a group of six after receiving parental consent. At any time, parents can choose to turn Party Chat on for all friends under 16 or off for everyone. Messages are text only. Users in this age group cannot access voice chat.
