Why did the Wii U sell poorly?
The Wii U was a flop because it wasn’t supported by 3rd party games, the Nintendo Devs were slow to roll new games because they were adjusting to HD graphic requirements, they tried to force the gamepad gimmick onto games and couldn’t really make it work as a second screen. Because a lot of them sold and hardcore gamers (collectors) don’t hold it in high regard. The Wii is one of the best selling consoles of all time. It was also bought by a lot of people who don’t see much value in owning old hardware. Its poor sales have been attributed to a weak launch game lineup, limited third-party support, and lackluster marketing that failed to clearly distinguish it from the original Wii. Nintendo discontinued the Wii U on January 31, 2017.
What game sold 300 million copies?
Minecraft is the best-selling video game of all time with over 300 million copies sold worldwide. To put this number into perspective, GTA V is comfortably the second best-selling video game of all time. It’s well ahead of Tetris (100 million) but a fair bit behind Minecraft (238 million). GTA V also accounts for nearly half of the total sales of the entire Grand Theft Auto franchise (370 million).
