GTA 4 is a noticeably darker and more dour game than anything the series had put out before or since, but a lot of that stemmed from Dan Houser’s life at the time. I still think even on it’s own, GTA 4, is the best GTA, Adding the Episodes from Liberty City makes even further superior. It’s a tie between GTA 5 & San Andreas. Honestly, GTA has never had a bad game. Even GTA 1 & 2 were great around their release date.
