It doesn’t really matter which is the best between the 2 of them since the differences are very small in my opinion. Battlefield 3 has better gunplay and better map design in my opinion and Battlefield 4 has so many maps, guns, attachments, gadgets, and vehicles it’s insane (in a good way). Battlefield for more realistic Boots on the Ground game play. CoD for fun game mods with complex mechanic gameplay. I prefer more realistic gameplay for my more modern shooter style game so out of the two I will go with battlefield.
