Is Xenoblade Chronicles X the same as Xenoblade 1?

Is Xenoblade Chronicles X the same as Xenoblade 1?

Despite carrying the Xenoblade title, Xenoblade Chronicles X was not a sequel, but instead a spiritual successor carrying over the basic themes of the original Xenoblade Chronicles. Xenoblade Chronicles X is unconnected to any previous game in the Xeno metaseries, although there are thematic and aesthetic references. It is a sprawling open world game with an epic science fiction premise, and it was quite incredible what Monolith Software was able to squeeze out of the hardware. Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition on the Nintendo Switch is… well, that game. Improved and refined, but still fundamentally the same game.

Is Xenoblade Chronicles X a good switch?

It is a sprawling open world game with an epic science fiction premise, and it was quite incredible what Monolith Software was able to squeeze out of the hardware. Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition on the Nintendo Switch is… well, that game. Improved and refined, but still fundamentally the same game. With that in mind, I’d say Xenoblade is AA. Monolith is a decently sized studio, that received decent budget and good marketing, but still too niche to reach the mass market appeal AAA Games get. I’d also say my guidelines aren’t quite as rigid as they look.

Is Xenoblade like Final Fantasy?

Final Fantasy XII is Xenoblade Before Xenblade and It’s Very Underrated. I just recieved Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age for Switch this Christmas and I can already tell I’m going to love it. The combat system is very similar to Xenoblade Chronicles and I absolutely loved Xenoblade Chronicles 2. But Xenoblade Chronicles X is a mostly singleplayer console JRPG. A singleplayer console JRPG which, in the land of modern theme park MMOs where the player is railroaded through a storyline until the endgame where they finally engage in raids/PVP, can only have it’s gameplay described as MMORPG-esque.

Do I need to play Xenoblade before X?

The combat and some gameplay elements are similar, but you definitely don’t need to play Xenoblade Chronicles to play Xenoblade Chronicles X. The only thing you might miss are the occasional joke or refrence to the first game. Lin’s monado hairpins, etc. You can play X first. I would still recommend playing the others in order, but you don’t need to play any of those before X. The games in the trilogy are more focused on the story and are less focused on exploration.
